Billet Aluminum Supercharger 8 Rib Conversion Kit for Audi 3.0T Gen 1 TSFI

Upgrade your Audi 3.0T supercharger stock 7 rib belt system with our precision-engineered 8 rib conversion kit. This upgrade includes the OEM tensioner mechanism with our 8 rib CNC-machined billet aluminum pulley, Griptec 8 rib upper pulley and an 8 rib Fluiddampr overdrive ring. Must be used with the Fluiddampr Crankshaft Master Pulley (part # 651201C), which you can order here. Compatible with all 3.0T Gen 1 engines. This conversion kit requires you to file down an unused standoff on the engine block to remove interference (shown in images).

 

Disclaimer: Overspinning your supercharger introduces a certain amount of risk due to the extra stress added into the system. Please understand that this extra stress can lead to engine failure. Maximum rated RPM from Eaton for the 1320 supercharger is 20,000. To establish your superchargers RPM, calculate your pulley ratio and multiply that ratio by your maximum engine speed. For example, a 57 upper, with a 206 lower running a redline of 7200 would result in 26,020 supercharger rpm (6,000rpm over the rated limit) at redline. (206/57)*7200=26,020

 

Required Hardware/Modifications:

  1. Griptec Hub:
    1. To install the upper Griptec pulley, you must already have, or plan to install the Griptec Hub. If you plan to install the Griptec Hub, please purchase it from our website. The installation tool is included. 
    2. Part Number: AU1864SR0K and AUTL1860HA
  2. Fluidampr Master Pulley:
    1. To install the lower Fluidampr overdrive ring, you must already have, or plan to install the Fluidampr master pulley. If you plan to install the master pulley, please purchase it from our website. Hardware is included. 
    2. Part number: 651201C
  3. Grind away unused standoff on the engine block.
    1. Depending on your pulley ratio, the extra casting from an unused standoff must be ground off.

The factory 7 rib setup is adequate for stock applications, but our 8 rib billet aluminum upgrade provides superior durability, reduced flex, and improved belt tracking for high-performance applications.

Installation Note:

  • Installing the Griptec upper pulley is a bit more involved than other pulleys. Velocity AP made a great video on their Jaguar superchargers. The general overview is similar to the Audi 3.0T. Service mode or removing the supercharger is required.

    • Must be used with the GripTec hub. If you do not have the GripTec hub, please purchase one from our site. It comes with an installation tool.  

 

  • Installing the tensioner is exactly like OEM. Service mode is not needed, but highly recommended. 

 

  • Installing the overdrive ring is simple and can be done without putting the engine in service mode. Must be used with the Fluiddampr Crankshaft Master Pulley (part # 651201C).
