Audi 3.0T Gen 2 (CREC) Supercharger 8 Rib Conversion Kit

Upgrade the factory 7-rib supercharger belt system on compatible 2016–2019 Audi 3.0T TFSI vehicles equipped with the Gen 2 CREC engine. This precision-engineered 8-rib conversion kit fits 2016–2018 Audi A6, A7 and A8 models and 2017–2019 Audi Q7 models equipped with the CREC supercharged V6.

The kit includes:

• OEM tensioner mechanism

• CNC-machined billet aluminum 8-rib tensioner pulley

• GripTec 8-rib upper supercharger pulley

• Fluidampr 8-rib crankshaft overdrive ring

The lower overdrive ring must be used with the Fluidampr Crankshaft Master Pulley, part number 651201C.

Installation may require grinding down an unused standoff on the engine block to prevent interference. Refer to the product images for the affected area.

Why Upgrade to an 8-Rib System?

The factory 7-rib belt system is generally adequate for stock applications. Higher-performance pulley configurations place additional load on the belt drive system.

To install the 8-rib Fluidampr overdrive ring, your vehicle must already have, or be upgraded with, the Fluidampr Crankshaft Master Pulley.

Engine-Block Standoff Modification

Depending on the selected pulley combination, material may need to be removed from an unused engine-block standoff to provide adequate clearance.

Installation Information

GripTec Upper Pulley

The GripTec upper pulley uses the factory-style 4-bolt mounting system.

Remove the four bolts securing the original supercharger pulley, install the GripTec pulley, and tighten the bolts according to GripTec specifications.

Tensioner Assembly

The upgraded tensioner installs in the same general manner as the OEM assembly.

Placing the vehicle into service position is not strictly required, but it is highly recommended to improve access during installation.

Fluidampr Overdrive Ring

The overdrive ring can be installed without placing the vehicle into service position.

It must be installed with the Fluidampr Crankshaft Master Pulley, part number 651201C.

Supercharger RPM and Overspeed Disclaimer

Increasing supercharger speed places additional stress on the supercharger, belt-drive system, and engine. Operating beyond the manufacturer’s rated limits can increase the risk of component damage or engine failure.

The Eaton TVS1320 supercharger has a stated maximum rated speed of 20,000 RPM.

To estimate supercharger speed:

Lower pulley diameter ÷ upper pulley diameter × engine RPM = supercharger RPM

Example:

• Upper pulley: 57 mm

• Lower pulley: 206 mm

• Engine speed: 7,200 RPM

(206 ÷ 57) × 7,200 = approximately 26,020 supercharger RPM

This example is approximately 6,000 RPM above the stated 20,000 RPM rating.

The purchaser and installer are responsible for calculating the selected pulley ratio, understanding the risks, and confirming that the complete vehicle setup is suitable for the intended operating speed.
